Dear ship designers,

In this blog post we want to demonstrate how fast the creation of a parametric skeg can be achieved in CAESES®. Given is a bare ship hull surface. This surface is then taken as the only input for a skeg feature that was defined before by one of our colleagues. When this feature gets triggered, it creates a skeg geometry and attaches it to the input surface – including trimming. At the same time, a set of skeg parameters gets created in the object tree, and the skeg shape can be immediately adjusted to the specific requirements of the vessel. There you go:

Hi Daniel, just get in touch with us if you are interested in it. It won’t be part of the shipped features.

This feature cannot be used for creating twin skegs. However, you could define a similar feature for twin skegs in the same way. It might be a bit more complex, but technically there is no difference.
