Yacht designed with CAESES continues its winning streak

XR41 02

The XR41 has continued to deliver strong results on the race course, following a successful 2025 season with another series of wins and podium finishes in 2026.

The yacht’s development involved parametric and multi-objective optimization with CAESES, allowing the design team to investigate different geometry variations and adapt the design to the sailing conditions expected across different races.

The results from the past two seasons provide a clear picture of how the design has performed in competition.

A successful 2025 season

The XR41 recorded several strong finishes throughout the season 2025, including:

  • Major, ORC‑B: 1st, 4th
  • Sjælland Rundt: 1st, 3rd
  • Kiel Week, ORC‑B: 1st, 2nd, 3rd
  • ORC World Championship, Class B: 1st, 2nd, 4th

The results continued into 2026, with the XR41 competing successfully across a range of ORC events.

The continued racing results of the XR41 provide a practical demonstration of this approach: a parametric, optimization-driven design process translated into competitive performance on the water.

The results speak for themselves, but the team’s experience tells a story behind them.

“With a tight deadline for delivering the design of the new XR41 sailing yacht from X‑Yachts, we decided to put our trust in CAESES and the team behind it. Expectations were high, but the guys really delivered – from rolling out special versions of the software to unprecedented support.

Thanks to this support, we were able to dramatically reduce the design delivery time and explore far more design alternatives than we had initially expected.

The CAESES platform provides a highly reliable and versatile set of tools. It combines extensive customization capabilities with exceptional robustness. In our case, CAESES handled a complex parametric model and thousands of iterations for the ORC optimization of our design – all within a very short timeframe.”
