  1. Hi, I am currently running in to a couple issues regarding the connection to STAR-CCM+ for optimisation. I have followed the tutorial guides and tried to troubleshoot on my own but with no success. When running the Java Macro/connector 1 in the connection tab, an error of not finding the part is returned, yet it is the same in the simulation file used for input files. An image of both have been shown below, please let me know if more information is needed from my side. Also, when attempting to select the data values in the results values. The values section is completely uneditable, im not able to select anything and it seems to be stuck, is there a way to zoom out here? Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Adam
  2. I want to execute DOE and optimization using CAESES in batch mode. I'm not sure how to write the .fsc file when each optimization uses different DOE results. For example, DOE1 -> OPTI1, DOE2 -> OPTI2. The variables and objectives are the same, and I want to observe the differences in results based on the number of DOEs and methods.
  3. I have been researching Caeses and how it can be used in vessel optimisation. One video I came across that was very useful was the 'Optimization of a Double-Ended Ferry with CAESES and CADMATIC'. In this video, it quickly runs through how the vessel optimisation was set up. I am currently undergoing my 4th-year dissertation and would like to conduct research on the 'Optimisation of small fishing vessel hulls to maximise deck space and minimise operational costs'. I have not used Caeses much in the past and consider myself to be inexperienced with the software. My question is; Is there any recommendations of articles to read so that I can set up a small fishing vessel hull optimisation simulation? Or any guidance to help me through my studies? I am not very sure how to; start setting up my model geometry, set constraints, begin optimisation etc Any comments are much appreciated
  4. Hello, I'm trying to do a duct shape optimization by coupling a CAESES parametric model with the ANSYS ICEM and CFX components. For that, I generate a simple parametric duct in CAESES and export the .fsc file, but when I try to import it in the CAESES ACT Extension and click update, I get the following error (see attached image). However, the ANSYS Geometry tile in the CAESES module is ticked, despite not having a geometry when I open it (second image). Any help on what may cause this problem would be appreciated.
