  1. I am stuggling with a similar issue with the response surface. Is there a rough guidance on how many CFD samples would be needed to begin the iterations without CFD? I have 6 variables with 2 evaluations and am currently on 60 samples all with full CFD runs.
  2. Hi, I am currently running in to a couple issues regarding the connection to STAR-CCM+ for optimisation. I have followed the tutorial guides and tried to troubleshoot on my own but with no success. When running the Java Macro/connector 1 in the connection tab, an error of not finding the part is returned, yet it is the same in the simulation file used for input files. An image of both have been shown below, please let me know if more information is needed from my side. Also, when attempting to select the data values in the results values. The values section is completely uneditable, im not able to select anything and it seems to be stuck, is there a way to zoom out here? Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Adam
  3. This is perfect, thank you Heinrich! You have been great help Cheers Adam
  4. Hi Heinrich, I am using the STEP (STAR-CCM+) export option, and yes I have tried highlighting the final subscope which only included the object I wanted. in the project I have made a final subscope named: '05_Final Domain' in which I created a Brep which included all parts of my model from other subscopes into one part. (I believe this is the right method, correct me if I am wrong) Cheers Adam FAN4.cdbc
  5. Thank you Heinrich, I have tried what you have suggested and works except for one of the surfaces in my geometry. The blade I have modelled was done using Meta Surface, and this seems to be causing me the majority of issues even when using a Brep or solid from intersection. I have exported the blade on it's own into STAR CCM+ and still shows as an assembly even though there is only a singular part. Is there anything else I could try? Cheers, Adam
  6. Hi, I am currently modelling a turbofan blade passage for optimisation and use in STAR-CCM+. When I export as a step file it appears as an assembly in STAR-CCM+ and I cannot replace the part for the optimisation automation. I believe it to be an error in my modelling. I have made separate surfaces (e.g. Inlet, Outlet, Blade surface etc.) but am not sure if they have been connected properly to be used as a singular part ready to be exported as the Domain into STAR-CCM+. Any help with uniting the surfaces would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards Adam FAN3.cdbc
  7. Hi I am currently setting up my university final year project around CAESES. I have a geometry file from version 4.4, and was wondering if this would still work in version 5.3 and integrate with STAR-CCM+ for optimisation? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Adam
