RSM With Sobol or Without Sobol

Hi

 

I get a Question when i was testing Optimization Algorithm(RSM in DAKOTA).

 

The Opti is finding minimum Z value on a certain BsplineSurface.

 

And I Knew RSM is Basically creates a response surface based an initial result pool. Then for each iteration it creates a response surface. On this it will find the minimum and runs the CFD for this new minimum. Then this design is included into the new response surface and a new iteration will start.

 

 

But...With Sobol or Without Sobol, Designs created by DAKOTA(RSM) is same.

 

In attached png file. First is the thing No Select Result pool, Second is Selecting Sobol_01(30 Designs), Last one is Selecting Sobol_17(200 Designs). Same Designs is created. All....

 

 

So, my Question is that Why does not consider initial result pool when rsm run.

Hi Moo Sung,

 

This used to work as expected and described in the manual, but we are aware of some recent problems regarding the reuse of existing designs for building up the surrogate model. We'll look into it and give you some feedback about it. Sorry for the issues.
