Mr. Pieter Van Driessche 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2016 I got a newby question for Caeses. I'm trying to model an elbow with a second pipe connected to use for CFD simulation (meshing with snappyhexmesh).I have attached my model. When I try to mesh this, the result is only the big elbow. the small pipe is not meshed.I think I'm missing something obvious, but I can't figure it out; Thanks for the help! Jörg 29 Report post Posted November 15, 2016 Hi Pieter, I recommend to check the brep tutorial . There is also a sample file included which looks similar to your example: . Your model is not a clean solid, that's probably the reason why you cannot mesh it. You need to create a union (Boolean operation). I hope this helps,Joerg
Mr. Pieter Van Driessche 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2016 Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure if I understand your comment as I have a boolean operation (union) in my Brep02 that is merging the elbow with the small pipe? Do I need to do this different? Jörg 29 Report post Posted November 15, 2016 Hi Pieter, Like I said, just check the very basic sample project :-) The result in there is different, and I think this is what you need. Maybe you have to close your small pipe before applying the Boolean operation. Your project is also quite slow, compared to the sample file so it seems that there is something not ideal. Mr. Pieter Van Driessche 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 Closing the holes in the small pipe worked! Thanks
