Mr. Patricio Pedreira 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2016 Hi all, I'm currently working with a .stl model of an intake port. The stl was obtained with CATIA from measurements done with an electronic device, so the .stl is a single volume without features (the external surface is unique) I'm having trouble in naming or coloring the different parts of the surface where boundary conditions are to be applied (in my case: inlet, wall and outlet) I've already seen some of the tutorials and videos that deal with this topic, but most of them start from a geometry built inside CAESES so they weren't much help. I've tried to the same with a simpler geometry, a cylinder built as a single volume without features, but had no luck. Any suggestions?Patricio
Jörg 29 Report post Posted April 19, 2016 Hi Patricio, Please check out this post: https://www.caeses.com/blog/2015/stl-import-and-shape-deformation-latest-work/ You can use "split by angle" to receive a set of patches. Then it is easy to color each patch separately. Does this help? CheersJoerg
