FSurfaceCurve from Curve on Surface?

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody,

is there an easy way to generate a FSurfaceCurve from a curve which is directly located on an surface?

I think on curve typ meridionalcamber which is developed along a Surface of Revolution (meridian contour)?

This would be fine to generate the hub or shroud surface for a rotational periodic blade passage.

Hi Toni,

There is no functionality in the menu for this so far. We have it in our library i.e under the hood, but it is not available to the user yet.

Anyway, here is a workaround:

I attached a simple example where the surface curve is generated by means of an intersection curve. See also the screenshot for getting a quick idea. This should do the job if the intersection on the hub surface is unique. I set the type provider of the feature definition to this intersection curve, so that you can readily use this feature "as a curve". For subsurface modeling, the domain curve "dc" is also given, see the second screenshot below.

Does this help?

Cheers

Joerg
