Mr. Gregor Stadler 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2014 Hi, I started to design a mixing section and need help to parameterize it in an easy way. At first I just tried to design a spiral with a sweep transformation and afterward with a long single generic blade which is winded up on the cylinder. Both was not successful and ends with a lot of “!” symbols. Now I draw each single nub via 4 generic curves. It works but these method needs a lot of time when you change the parameters length and lead angle because you always have to create or delete nubs. So I have three questions:Is it possible to design it in a way that the change of length (the lead angle should be constant) leads to an automatically addition of nubs? How can you design a radius between the surface of the cylinder and the floor level of the nub?How can you close the endings of the cylinder so it is watertight? The solution should look like the given example. Thank you and best regards, Gregormixing_section.fdbc
Mr. Carsten Fuetterer 9 Report post Posted June 18, 2014 Hi, I created an example and posted it here. I hope this could help you in your design process. It is an watertight model. If you want to have fillets, you should wait for our next major release, then it will be more easy to do this. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask them. best regards Carsten
