How to show boundary layers for several stations?

Recommended Posts

Hello Sir,

How to show the boundary layers at  serval stations for an aftbody of a ship? See the attached picture.  planeCUts.bmp

I  found I still failed to do it although Claus has shown me how to realize it just two weeks ago  . Please tell me how to do it step by step.

Thank you very much!

Best wishes,

Jingjing

Hi Jingjing,

You have to extract a GridPlaneCut from the combined mesh and apply a ContourPlot on the extracted data. In the ContourPlot you have to chose the mapped Data, e.g. velocity.

Hope that already helps.

Best regards

Claus

Hi Claus,

A problem I met is that I found  there was no choice for the mapped data at all in the ContourPlot. Probably, did I miss some very detailed things?

Hi Jingjing,

No, you have not missed anything! Seems like you ran into a bug. When I showed it to you on your computer it might have been the previous release, right?

We'll come back to you asap.

Cheers

Claus

Hi Jingjing,

Indeed, there is a bug with the connection of the plane cut.

Fortunately, we are just about to finish a maintainance release (3.0.10), so this bug will be fixed then.

The release will be available probably today or tomorrow.

Thanks for your observation!

Best regards,

Stefan
