Mr. Michael Coe 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2019 Hi all, I am trying to create a duct with dual outlets and diffuser capabilities. I have followed the swept duct tutorial and created the general parametric geometry I am looking for. The problem I am having is that I want the two mirror image parts to intersect as an open channel. I have tried solid from intersection, boolean operations, but to no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated.sweepDuct.fdbc
Ceyhan Erdem 14 Report post Posted November 20, 2019 Hi Michael, Please find attached the updated model.A boolean "Unite" operations is a solid operation. Therefore you should have your geometry water-tight. For each part I have added the "Close Planar Holes" operation which converted them to water-tight geometries and then created a new BRep in which I have performed the Union operation. Mr. Michael Coe 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2019 Hi Ceyhan, Thank you so much for your help. So am I correct in thinking that you need to have a closed surface before using the union command? I will definitely learn from this. Take care. Michael
Ceyhan Erdem 14 Report post Posted November 23, 2019 Hi Michael, Yes the "union" command within BRep is a solid command. Therefore you should have a water-tight geometry. CheersCeyhan
