Mr. Bernardes Marco 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2016 Hi, Poly curve generates wrong edges. The conection between two lines are not sharp. This problem propagates by offset. Is there any solution, please? Thanks, Marco.
Stefan Wunderlich 6 Report post Posted February 26, 2016 Hi Marco, I guess it is only the visualization that is fooling you?It currently does not care for sharp edges (which we are improving currently). Cheers,Stefan
Mr. Bernardes Marco 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2016 Hi Stefan, thank you for your reply. No, the edges are not sharp and it returns wrong offsets. Please see the attached file. Best, Marco.Poly_curve_error.fdbc
Mr. Claus Abt 14 Report post Posted March 2, 2016 Hi Marco,If you set the resolution of the polycurve to 202 instead of 200, you will see that the corners are sharp. Due to the discontinuity of the polycurve (the corner), the offsetcurve also has a discontinuity that "jumps" from the offset of the one side to the offset of the other side. Try out to put two lines that do not touch each other in a polycurve, you will have the same situation. The offsetcurve will be visualized using ONE nurbs representation internally (as far as I know). I.e. a curve needs to be created that interpolates the offset of the one corner right before the bend and one interpolating right behind the bend. Ideally the curve would not be defined in-between, but since you created one offsetcurve and not 3 individual curves for the individual sides and connected them, the result is as you see in the picture.Hope that clarifies the problem.
