Hi,
I've been modeling a jet ski impeller based on this tutorial https://www.caeses.com/blog/2015/video-blade-design-tutorial/ and I already got something like its shown in Picture 1.
Nevertheless, on the last step, I came across the following problem. In the original impeller (Picture 2), the value for Theta varies along the Leading edge from 0 to a certain angle (e.g 45º), as the theta value along the Trailing edge remains constant, generating a straight line (marked in red Picture 2). I attempted to achieve the same result expressing the value of general Theta through a fspline which varies from 0º to 45º throughout the x-axis. However, I got something as I already expected, which is shown in Picture 3, where the theta value varies from 0º to 45º throughout the x-axis but along the whole surface.
What options do I have in order to apply this change to the Leading Edge but keeping the theta value for the Trailing Edge constant creating a straight line, achieving a impeller like shown in Picture 2 ??
Thanks in advance
Best regards.

Hi,
I ran into the following questions when I was post-processing the results obtained in the Propeller with OpenFOAM tutorial and I wanted to analyze the resulting mesh quality. As you can see on the pictures I just attached (Picture 1 and 2), I am aware there are several ways to visualize the mesh in CAESES. However :
1) does CAESES include any feature which allows you to "turn the mesh inside out" or "flip the mesh" obtaining a view as shown in Picture 3 in Paraview, showing only the part of the mesh corresponding to the propeller surfaces ?
2) there are any options (as in the "clickable" table on the left-hand side in Picture 3, Paraview) that let you visualize the different paths or surfaces that are defined? that is, I can only see that CAESES shows you the "internalMesh" but doesn't give you any other options to visualize paths or boundaries.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards.

Hi,
It did work fine !!
Thank you,
Best regards.

Hi everyone,
I know there are already some topics related to CAESES + openFOAM, but none of them could solve my problem.
I'm following the tutorial "Propeller with OpenFOAM" and I just got the same error every time I try to run the simulation from CAESES.
It seems to me as if the software is storing the Allrun executable in the wrong folder so that it cannot find the "o,constant, system" folders because they have not the same path.
I got the same error in all log files.

Hi,
First of all, thanks for the options. It definitively gave me an idea. I made it creating a fspline for the value of theta at start.
