Hi
I need to use the actual mirror option, I mean, not just visualization.
for instance, I have a TriMesh of port side of ship hull , I need to mirror it and make starboard side, and then joining them.
is there any idea?

yes, exactly I used the same PowerPoint in the same page which you upload the new tutorial recently :)

Hi Karsten
I have CEASES 3.1.4, but it is academic licensed , if I upgrade to the version 4.x, do you think , it could be free for academic licensed?
because I don't want to use just the free version, I have to use the academic licensed.
besides, the changed "importgffile31" still doesn't work,I exported the feature to specific folder, then I address the folder in the file-setting-custom, the feature is appeared in the menu, I just addressed the ".gf" file, but it doesn't imported.
am I doing something wrong? or this is related to the version problem?
Cheers

Hi Karsten
your description was so helpful to understanding encapsulation concept in the features , thanks a lot

Hi Karsten
Actually, I am following the same ship hull to learn the software :)
thanks for the tutorial with a lot of detail, comparing the current that I already had, consequently, I solve the specific problem
but if you have such tutorial for feature programming, I will be so thankful to see that

thanks for the mentioned points
yes ,I am using the version 3.1.4

Hi Joerg
I checked these option, they seems according to your instruction.
as you can see , in the attached sample, the feature of "F_Sec01" won't change automatically, with the changing the scope of "Sec01", for example the if I change the parameter of "bilge_Coe", the poly line change accordingly , but there is not any change in the feature of "F_Sec01", consequently the Meta surface would not change,
the only solution in my CEASES 3.1.4 is changing the value manually in the feature editor.is there other solution?

Hi everyone
I am creating a feature based on the produced curves and parameters to be used in the curve engine and finally meta surface generation.
It seems, after creating a feature, there is not possibility to change the based curve, I mean when I change the curves after feature creation, I can’t see automatic update on the created feature.
Instead of creating a new feature, is there any option to update the existing feature for the new changes of the curves?

Hi Matthias
thanks for the helpful comments.
I tried the .fv() command in your attached file and any other files it works, but in the enclosed sample that I am practicing, it doesn't apply!
do you know , what's the problem?

Hi everyone
I am a beginner in modeling with CEASES , I need to know, is there the ability of using the commands in the command line, for example for getting the position and distance of the points or etc ?
if there is , where can I find the commands and their applications ?
thanks in advance

Hi Karsten
I was preparing a sample to attach here, please find in the attachment a ship hull with two internal tank sample , which is prepared for Autohydro application in the .gf format

Hi Karsten
The Autohydro can open only the .GF format, I couldn't find it among the export option in the CAESES.
so it there any solution for that?
Cheers,

Hi Hamidreza,
There is certain hydrostatics in CAESES already available. Either hydrostatics computation using sectiongroups/offsetgroups or Surfaces grouped (note that the orientation of the surfaces needs to be the same for each compartment. Alternatively you can also use a solid and boolean operations to get your tank/compartment. Search for getDisplacement(), then you can see the options for the surfacegroup.
In the attached file I created a watertight hull based on one of the examples and used the boolean intersection to create solids inside the scopes comp1, comp2. You can move the compartments by selecting the 3DPoint inside the scope. The volume is calculated from the intersection of hull and spaces.

Hi Claus
thank you for the helpful comments and sample,
I found the "damage stability" calculation in the Hydromax connection,it needs to access to the Hydromax, but I already have access to another hydrostatic software, Autoship(Autohydro),so can I use the produced compartment by Boolean operation , as input of Autohydro?

Hi Claus
thank you for the helpful comments and sample,

What kind of information do you need from the individual compartments? And what kind of geometric entities would you like to have at the end?
Cheers
Claus
Hi Claus
Actually I need to evaluate the hydrostatic of the ship due to flooding of produced compartments.
As I know, the FFW may not be able to calculate such a hydrostatic specifications, so I have to create a kind geometry which can be use in the connection with hydrostatic software, like Autoship or Maxsurf, so I think, the created individual compartments should contain specific information of the tanks or compartments, like what is used in the .GHS files or .GF files

Hi everyone
I want to model a series of water tight bulkheads to generate different structural tanks inside a ship hull,What kind of strategy do you suggest for generating these surfaces? is there any available sample for such work?
