Hello Everybody,
Some questions regarding STL postprocessing.
1. Is there a functionality available to cut a trimesh by something different than a plane, a surface of revolution for instance?
2. After cutting a closed trimesh the body is open. Is there a way to extract the open edges as points?

Hello Jörg,
thanks for your reply. I took your feature as idea for a feature which meet my requirements.
Maybe you have some comments to it?

Hello everybody,
is there an easy way to generate a FSurfaceCurve from a curve which is directly located on an surface?
I think on curve typ meridionalcamber which is developed along a Surface of Revolution (meridian contour)?
This would be fine to generate the hub or shroud surface for a rotational periodic blade passage.

Hi Jörg,
I thick this would be a nice feature. Often I want to plot clearly different curves, where their ranges not match. So I plot them in different coordinate systems. For me it is important to have them visible in one view.
E. g. I plot an angle distribution over the sweep of a blade, most of the ploted csys is not necessary. Y-range from 0-30 and X-range from 0-150. The same thing is with the visualization of a blade profiling. Blade length 100 and profile heigth maybe 10% of the length.

Hello,
one short question.
Is it possible to display a csys with non equivalent axis? That means different extensions of the axis?

Hi Arne,
if I do not specity the file in the software connector it is not transfered into the computation input directory.
It will be only available in "$WORKINGDIR/manual_results/baseline/input".
But in my understanding this should be OK.

Hi Arne,
thank you for the demonstration file.
This is exactly what I'm doing.
My problem was to specify this file in the Software Connector ;-) as input for a computation.
I'm starting the computation, first Feature is running for file output after that in the same computation external mesh generation is starting with this input file.
"$WORKINGDIR/manual_results/baseline/input/filename" -> This is what I specify in the software connector.
Do you have a better solution for that?

The feature writes a file correctly into ".../baseline/input".
This file should be an input file for a configuration independent of the frameworks file name.
I have to specify this file relatively.
Now I'm using "$WORKINGDIR/manual_results/baseline/input/filename".
This is working.

Hi Arne,
env() was excactly what need. Thank you.
I write from a feature into the input directory.
Than I need to specify this file as an input file for a computation.
To specify this file independently from the design engine I will now using "$DESIGNDIR/input/*".

Hello,
I'm looking for an information about predefined system variables in CAESES.
One I know is $PROJECTDIR.
I'm missing $INPUTDIR.

Hello Ben,
sorry, I mean the result value file.
This is in the subfolders and it could not be found from the framework.

Hello,
How it is possible to change the path of a result file which is configured in a computation?
In case of Fine/Turbo my result files are in the computation directory in subfolders. (comp_dir/folder1/folder2/result_file.txt)
At the moment Framework could not find these files.

Hello Karsten,
thanks for your answer.
It's not urgent.
