Mr. Gabriele Bigini 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2019 Hello everybody, My name is Gabriele, I am a Master Student of University of Genova. In order to complete my study path, I decided to develop my thesis with CAESES. The topic of my progect is "Design Investigation and Optimization of Large Yacht Hull for wave making resistance". In order to training with the program I started to develop a model of NPL series 5b Molland. I really intresting to controll my hull surface with the SAC ( Curve of sectional areas) but unfortunatly, when insert the this parameter into the "engine" I have as result a very unsmoothed surface. Can someone give me some inghts to resolve this problem? Please find attached at the bottom the model I developed. Furthermore, does it exist some tutorial regard how to create hull with bulb bow? Thank you for your time. Best Regards, Gabriele BiginiNPL_model.fdbc
Ceyhan Erdem 14 Report post Posted December 2, 2019 Hi Gabrielle, There seems to be a problematic fspline curve "bottom" within your Feature Definition "AFT".The Area value seems to be not correct which causes the problem. When I dig into the feature definition I can see that you are directly assigning the Sectional Area Curve value that you obtain from the computation to the fspline area. But you also have to take into consideration the normalization factor. Please check the attached project and let me know if you have further questions.
