Wageningen-B series blade sections in CAESES Online propeller geometry tool

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am doing a small project on propeller cavitation.

In the geometry tool it asks for the leading edge fraction and trailing edge fraction and I am unable to understand at what point along the chord, leading edge/trailing edge is defined so that the above parameters are meaningful.

Thanks in advance,

Hari

Hi there,

This propeller model has a rather pragmatic approach to additionally control the leading edge thickness, for example. Internally, we distinguish between positive and negative coordinates with regards to the generatrix line. In the case of the leading edge, all positive coordinates get increasingly modified to smoothly change the thickness of the leading edge. The same counts for the trailing edge (negative points wrt generatrix).

Hope this helps to at least understand it. Sure, there are many other possibilities to realize such a shape change.

BTW: We tried to reach you through your email address that you submitted using the contact form, but the mail came back (invalid email address). Just to let you know.

Cheers

Joerg
