Mr. amin ava 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2017 Hi guys, I have 2 surfaces in CAESES and when I export them there is a gap in exported model and it makes problem during meshing process. :(I tried it by different export formats but it didn't work.please help me, how can I connect the surfaces together completely and remove the gap? Thanksdesign1.fdbc
Stefan Wunderlich 6 Report post Posted February 20, 2017 Hi Amin, What format do you need for export? If you need an STL, you should use a trimesh to triangulate the surfaces and close the gaps. I did this in your project, see if it works for you. Cheers,Stefandesign1.fdbc
Jörg 29 Report post Posted February 20, 2017 Hi Amin, We've figured out that we still have an issue here, i.e. there is some additional information needed to create a closed adjacent surface. We consider this as a TODO on our side. Thanks for this good example. As an alternative approach, you could try to set up the smaller surface by using a fillet surface which also gives you some control through the tangent factors. For the "fillet method", you need to choose NURBS-Based (optionally, with arc-length). All you need is another auxiliary surface to create the fillet surface (at the end of the smaller surface). In the documentation browser, there is also a sample for the fillet surface. Using the NURBS-based fillet method guarantees you a closed boundary in your case. I hope this helps,Joerg
