how to change default pdf viewer

I have caeses 4.1.2 installed on debian Jessie, running the trinity kde desktop 90% of the time. It seems that the software runs fine, so now i will try to run the tutorials, but clicking on a particular tutorial opens it with gimp. i have a number of pdf viewers, both under gnome and tde, so i woullike to use one of the. obviously Caeses does not check the file associations of the trinity desktop, so i guess there is a config file that needs to be changed. can someone please point to the file and /or the change ?

If you cannot make it to associate the correct file extension to the corresponding software, then you can also find the tutorials in the installation directory of CAESES (folder "tutorials").
