Ms. eleni aloniati 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2015 I run an optimization scheme with NSGA II, but for some reason i paused the run. When i opened again my project to coninuie from where i was, i selected NSGA II, and used the previous run as reference. The first generation was immediately generated and the relative values already calculated. But from the second generation, the project runs again and does not use the already calculated values. Isn't it possible to continue from where i stopped the calculations?
Matthias Maasch 21 Report post Posted November 28, 2015 Hi Eleni, I did a few test runs using our sample "cuboid". Unfortunately (well, rather fortunately) I wasn't able to reproduce your issue with the NSGAII. I paused and stopped the runs with saving and closing and so on but everything ran as I would expect it. So, refering to your last question, yes, exactly this should happen! Did you use the newest software version?Did you change any related parameters or settings after reopening the project? If not it would be helpful if you could share your project. If you don't want to share it here in public you can send it via email to me. Best regards Matthias
Jörg 29 Report post Posted November 2, 2017 For an improved recycling of previous runs, please use the global optimization strategy from the CAESES Dakota design engine. There is a strict design pool usage so that previous runs will be fully included. Note that there is also a strategy that allows you to make use of response surfaces (also called surrogate or meta models).
