what is the meaning of chord,thickness,camber,skew and rake in propeller modeling?

Recommended Posts

Hi friends!

I am trying to modeling a marine propeller in caeses, in the process,  i am very confused by the meaning( chord,thickness,camber,skew and rake ) of propeller in caeses;

According to my understanding

1 chord is a dimensionless parameter that can be defined as  chord length/radius?

2 thickness,camber can be regarded as maxthickness/chordlength and camber/chordlength?

3 But what is the defination of skew and rake, skew/radius or skew/chordlength???

can anybody help me?

Best regards

Dear Lixing,

The questions you are asking are explained in detail in the type documentation -- just click the icon left of the name of your blade. Also note, that you can choose between different options for the representation of skew and pitch:
